\ COMMENT.HLP Allow multiple line comments in files. by Tom Zimmer
<comment:> ( --- )
Primitive used by "comment:".
comment: ( --- )
Start a multi-line comment. Patches <comment:> into RUN,
it then reads and throws away lines until "comment;"
is encountered.
Here is an example of usage:
comment: <- this marks the start line of a multi line comment.
this is a comment line somewhere in the middle.
comment; <- this marks the end line of a multi line comment.
<.comment:> ( --- )
A primitive used by ".comment:".
.comment: ( --- )
Starts a multi-line print statment. All lines following the
".comment:" line will be printed to the display until a
"comment;" is encountered.
<#if> ( --- )
A primitive used by #IF.
#if ( bool --- )
Starts a multi-line compiler directive. If the BOOL passed
to #IF is true, then the lines following #IF will be executed.
If the BOOL is false, then the lines following #IF up to the
#ENDIF, will be ignored.
Here is an example of how #IF works:
true ( --- f1 )
#if True flag passed, this comment needs no preceeding \
cr .( This statment printed due to TRUE flag in #IF statment.)
#endif
false ( --- f1 )
#if
.( This statment NOT printed due to FALSE flag in #IF statment.)
#endif
#endif ; \ just a noop for the #if TRUE case.
Ends a multi-line Compiler directive. See #IF.
